NM Youth Art Month (YAM) Information

YAM is traditionally, and nationally, held in March, but events take place throughout the year! YAM showcases NM secondary student artwork across the state. It is not only a chance to participate and be seen at a national level, but an advocacy opportunity as well. Promote your school with these programs!

(1) To enter the YAM Flag Contest, please download the form under "YAM Flag Contest 2012" and make as many copies as needed for your students. The instructions are on the top of the first form, and both forms must be filled out to participate. Please contact YAM Co-Chair Janine Shafer below for more information.

(2) To enter the YAM Student Display at NAEA, please see the information listed under "NAEA 2012 YAM Student Art Display." Please contact YAM Co-Chair Janine Shafer below for more information.

(3) To share school/ district/ regional art activities to be included in our YAM notebook due to NAEA in July, please contact YAM Co-Chair Vicki Breen below for more information.

(4) To enter the NM Statewide Art Show at the September State Fair, please contact Vicki Breen below for more information.

The 2010 and 2011 YAM Awards at the National Art Education Association (NAEA) presented NM with an Award of Participation for our efforts in building awareness of YAM in our state. This is a great honor. Congratulations to our co-chairs!
